Eczema Clinical Trials: What is Atopic Dermatitis?
Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is an inflammatory skin condition characterized by dry, itchy, and inflamed skin. Certain triggers, such as stress, temperature changes, allergens, and irritants, can worsen eczema symptoms. Eczema affects people of all ages, but it is most commonly diagnosed in infants and children.
The symptoms of eczema can vary from person to person, but some of the most common include redness, itching, swelling, and dryness of the skin. The skin may also become thickened and scaly over time, and small bumps may develop. In severe cases, the skin can become cracked and oozing, which can cause sleepless nights and interfere with everyday life.
