Botox & Dysport Injections in Dallas, Texas
What is Botox & Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are two types of neuromodulators that are used to help block the transmission of signals to muscles. Both cosmetic treatment options contain an ingredient known as botulinum toxin, which when used in low dosages can provide effective treatment for a variety of medical and cosmetic conditions. Botox & Dysport therapy are minimally invasive, require no surgical incisions, and are most commonly used to help treat and prevent facial wrinkles.
Botox and Dysport therapy work by relaxing and limiting the movement of targeted facial muscles. Botox & Dysport injection sites typically include regions of the face, including the forehead, around the lips, and under and around the eyes. Depending on the areas of the face that require treatment, your doctor will determine which injection type may be best for you.
Why are Botox & Dysport used?
Botox and Dysport are used to help treat fine lines and wrinkles of the face. However, the two treatment options are designed to target different areas of the face. Botox primarily targets laugh lines, frown lines, glabellar lines, and crow’s feet, and Dysport primarily targets glabellar lines. Botox may also be used to treat headaches and hyperhidrosis, also known as excessive sweating.

What does treatment with Botox or Dysport involve?
Treatment with Botox or Dysport involves your dermatologist injecting the solution into the skin to help relax facial muscles and limit their motion. Relaxing the muscles will help smooth the skin, and limiting their motion will help reduce the development of new wrinkles, as well as slow down the progression of current wrinkles. Administration of Botox or Dysport is performed in the comfort of your doctor’s office and involves virtually zero downtime.
Before starting the procedure, your doctor may administer a numbing agent to help reduce pain and discomfort. Once you are comfortable and relaxed, your doctor will begin the procedure, gently injecting the treatment solution into affected areas of the face. While procedure times will vary based on the number of needed injection sites, in general, treatment time is minimal.
Post-procedure, if there are no concerning side effects, you will be able to return to your normal daily activities. However, strenuous physical activity should be avoided during the first few hours following your procedure. You should also avoid irritating and rubbing treatment areas.
Treatment results may be visible within the first few days following treatment. However, treatment results are temporary and repeat visits may be required to help maintain results.
