We specialize in the following skin conditions:

To diagnose your specific condition, your acne dermatologist will carefully examine your skin to help rule out any other potential conditions which may be causing your symptoms. Once your acne treatment specialist has determined that your symptoms are the result of acne, your doctor will “grade” the degree of acne. One being a mild case of acne, and four being a severe case of acne. Along with grading the severity of acne, your doctor will also diagnose what type(s) of acne are affecting your skin, which may include:

    • Acne vulgaris
    • Comedonal acne
    • Cystic acne
    • Nodular acne
    • Acne rosacea
    • Acne mechanica
    • Acne cosmetica
    • Excoriated acne

Chronic skin issues can be a burden in your day-to-day life, and rosacea is just one of the many conditions that fall into that category. The recurring redness can cause an undue increase in stress and make your skin feel overly sensitive. The millions of Americans who live with rosacea know exactly what we’re talking about. Thankfully, we live in a new day and age with various clinical treatment options. And if you’re looking for rosacea treatment in Dallas, Texas, then it’s time to take a trip to Dallas Dermatology Treatment and Research Center. Dallas Dermatology Treatment and Research Center is home to an exceptional team of clinical dermatologists and dermatologic specialists that has helped an ever-increasing number of patients get relief from their rosacea symptoms.

Our rosacea dermatologist will review your condition and determine if you have the following type of rosacea:

    • Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea (Subtype One) — The most common and widely known type of rosacea. It involves the standard rosacea symptoms like facial redness and flushing, as well as more prominent facial blood vessels.
    • Papulopustular Rosacea (Subtype Two) — Most commonly affects women over the age of 40 and involves more acne-like breakouts of redness.
    • Rhinophyma Rosacea (Subtype Three) — By far the rarest form of rosacea. This condition involves the thickening of your nose skin, and it is most commonly found in men.
    • Ocular Rosacea (Subtype Four) — Simply a variation of rosacea that more explicitly or exclusively affects the area around your eyes.

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-related skin condition that causes an accelerated growth of skin cells, making affected areas of skin appear inflamed, red, and scaly. Psoriasis may also cause the skin to itch, burn, or sting. Symptoms of psoriasis can range from mild to moderate, to severe and can affect any area of the body, including the nails and areas of the face, including the lips, eyelids, and mouth. Areas most commonly affected by psoriasis include the scalp, elbows, and knees. Depending on which areas of the body are affected, along with the severity of the condition, psoriasis treatment may include:

    • Topical treatments, e.g., ointments or shampoos
    • Phototherapy
    • Oral medications
    • Injectables

Eczema is a collection of conditions that cause the skin to become irritated and inflamed. Often, patients with eczema will experience itchy, red, dry, and sometimes cracked skin. The condition, which is not contagious, may first present itself during infancy, with symptoms and the condition usually disappearing with age. However, in some cases, eczema may also continue from infancy into adulthood. Patients who did not have eczema during infancy or during their younger years may still develop eczema in adulthood. Eczema can appear anywhere on the body, including the face, elbows, wrists, and back of the knees. Symptoms, affected areas, and treatment options will vary depending on the cause of the condition, as well as the type of eczema that is affecting the skin.

    Types of eczema may include:

    • Atopic dermatitis
    • Contact dermatitis
    • Dyshidrotic dermatitis
    • Nummular dermatitis
    • Neurodermatitis
    • Seborrheic dermatit

An infection is defined as a disease in any region of the body resulting from invasion by a virus, bacteria, parasite, or other harmful microorganisms. Sometimes, the skin, which is designed to help defend your body against infection, can become infected itself. This typically occurs when there is an open wound in the skin, which creates a gateway for germs and other microorganisms to invade and infect the skin.

Skin infections can affect any area of the body including the face, hands, and genital area. Skin infections can also occur in any layer of the skin. However, skin infections that extend into the deeper layers of skin are usually more serious than infections found on surface layers. Treatment of a skin infection will vary based on its severity.

Depending on lifestyle habits, along with other factors, some patients may experience chronic or recurrent skin infections. For example, athletes who frequently play sports may see a reappearance of a fungal infection even after treatment. Patients with weakened immune systems may also experience repeating skin infections.
